Bryant shows success before NEC Championship

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University outdoor track and field team showed massive success at the Skyhawk Invitational as the Bulldogs prep for the NEC Championship.

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS

  • Freshman Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) led on the men's side running to a second place finish in the 800-meter. Dolan finished with a time of 1:55.28.
  • Junior Noah Tellier (North Kingstown, R.I.) also finished in second at Skyhawk. Tellier finished the 1500m with a time of 8:52.76. Matt McGovern (Long Beach, N.Y.) trailed behind Tellier and finished third posting a time of 8:59.45.
  • The Bulldogs finished 1-2 in pole vault as Nicholas Curci (Jupiter, Fla.) and Jacob Borgia (Westborough, Mass.) cleared a height of 4.25 meters.
  • Sophomore Anthony Holloway (Forked River, N.J.) broke his PR in long jump Holloway jumped 6.26 meters and finished sixth overall.
  • Freshman Samuel Bullock threw 13.10 meters in shot put, which marks a new PR.
  • Bryant found success in the discus throw event as Chris Fasano (Lake Grove, N.Y.) walked away with a first-place finish throwing 45.20 meters, which qualifies him for NEICAAA. Brett Cloutier (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished 10th overall and set a new PR of 34.70 meters.
  • Sophomore Thomas McNeil (Foxborough, Mass.) also set a new PR in hammer throw throwing 35.28 meters.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS

  • Sophomore Kathryn O'Connor (Windham, N.H.) set a new PR in the 100-meter. O'Connor finished 32nd with a time of 13.78.
  • Junior Breann Campise (Tolland, Conn.) scored for the Bulldogs in the 3000m steeplechase by placing second with a time of 13:01.54.
  • Bryant's lone senior Victoria Whitham (Newton, Mass.) finished 17th in the hammer throw event with a new PR of 33.89 meters.

UP NEXT
Bryant competes this weekend at the Northeast Conference Championship hosted by Central Connecticut beginning on Saturday, May 4 and ending the following day.
