LEWISTON, Maine – The Bryant University men's and women's track and field team treks north to Lewiston, Maine for the Bates Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 18.

BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs have been competing in the Bates Invitational every year season since 2016.
  • Last season at the Bates Invitational, senior Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.) finished first in the 600m with a time of 1:25.54.
  • Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) became an IC4A qualifier in the 800m just one year ago at Bates. Dolan crossed the finish line at 1:55.12 for a second-place finish ranking him third all-time at Bryant.
  • Nicole Xiarhos (Berlin, Conn.) led the women last season at the Invitational by posting two top times in both the 60m and the 200m. Xiarhos finished with a time of 8.24 in the 60m for a fourth-place finish. In the 200m, she posted a time of 27.11 finishing in the fifth spot.
  • Junior Amanda Whitham (Newton, Mass.) set a personal-best in the indoor long jump last season at Bates jumping 4.39m.
  • Sophomore Stephanie Decarli (Wethersfield, Conn.) posted her best high jump performance last season of 1.45m.
  • Josh Pestana (Plymouth, Mass.), Kevin Stankiewicz (Weston, Conn.), and Jacob Borgia (Westborough, Mass.) also set personal-bests last season at the Bates Invitational in the 200m. Pestana finished with a PR time of 23.65 while Stankiewicz posted a time of 24.23 and Borgia came in at 24.66. All three Bulldogs finished among the top-10 led by Pestana who finished second overall.
  • William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.) posted his best time in the 600m last season. Bittrich finished fifth overall with a time of 1:29.63.
  • Alexander Duncan (Concord, N.H.) finished third overall last year at Bates in the mile run finishing with a PR of 4:44.98.
  • Junior Anthony Holloway (Forked River, N.J.) posted his best performance in the long jump with a personal best of 6.13m finishing sixth overall at Bates one year ago.
