Thomas breaks shot put record at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Sophomore Kasey Thomas shined at Merrimack on Saturday afternoon as the Bryant University men's and women's track and field team competed at Merrimack. Thomas shattered the outdoor shotput record at Bryant and helped the women's team score 92 points and finish third in the team standings. The men accumulated 113 points and also finished third behind both Merrimack and Assumption.

COACH SWITZER'S COMMENTS

"After having off last weekend, this was a great meet back for us. We talked a lot going into the meet about not having expectations but going in and competing with energy and intensity. Across the board I think we did a good job with that and walked away with a lot of PRs. It was awesome to end the meet on Kasey's school record with the whole team watching. I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks as we build into NECs."
