9 individuals, 1 relay team earn All-NEC honors

SOMERSET, N.J. -- The Bryant University track and field program had nine individuals and one relay team earn All-Northeast Conference honors for their efforts at the championship meet in May. 

Bryant hosted the 2021 NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the first time in program and produced one of the best two-day performances in school history. 

On the men's side, freshman Will Remkiewicz earned All-NEC First Team honors and NEC All-Rookie honors after taking home gold in the 400m with a time of 47.35. Junior Jason Dolan also earned first team honors, winning gold in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.66. Bryant's 4x400 relay team of Remkiewicz, Dolan, Ethan Ferraiola and Andrew Canale earned All-NEC First Team honors after winning gold with a time of 3:13.01.

Nicholas Alessandro picked up All-NEC Second Team honors in the javelin after he became the first male in program history to medal in the event, taking home a silver. Emmett Route was the highest-finishing freshman in the javelin, taking home NEC All-Rookie honors.

On the women's side, Jasmine Hope took home All-NEC First Team honors in the long jump. Hope is the first female in program history to win the long jump. She was also named to the NEC All-Rookie team.

Sarah Freeman (1500m) and Kasey Thomas (Shot Put) earned All-NEC Second Team honors. Freeman earned a silver medal with a time of 4:38.88, while Thomas recorded a throw of 12.51m.
