Track & Field Opens Indoor Season Saturday at Brown Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bryant track and field squads will open their indoor season this weekend at the Alden Invitational hosted by Brown. It will be their first indoor meet in nearly two years after last season's schedule was wiped out due to COVID.

Times: 11:00 am (Field events), 11:30 (Track Events)

There will be no live stream available, but fans will be allowed to attend. 

 

Bulldog Notes and Notables

- Both men's and women's teams are coming off their best ever performances at last season's NEC championships. The men finished fifth and the women were sixth.

- Sarah Freeman is coming off her first all-conference performance at the NEC cross country championships, placing 13th. She was also a silver medalist in the 1500 at last season's NEC track championships.

- Grace Yost set a program record of 9.34 in the 60 meter hurdles during the last Alden Invitationals in 2019. She will be competing in the event again this year, as well as the 4x400 relay.

- Emma Garrity won the 500 meters during the 2019 meet; her time of 1:18.92 ranks third all-time at Bryant. She will be competing in the 500 again, as well as the 4x400 relay. 

- William Remkiewicz broke the school record in the 400 meters last year as a freshman, and went on to win gold in that event and the 4x400 at the NEC championships. He will be competing in the 300 meters and 4x400 this weekend at Brown.

- Kevin Aroke's time of 8.93 in the 60 meter hurdles at the 2019 Alden Invitational put him fifth all-time in Bulldog history. He will be in the event again this weekend.

- Jacob Goodman's time of 36.72 at Brown in 2019 put him in the top ten all-time in the 300m at Bryant. He will be competing in the 300 and 4x400 this weekend.

- Lily LaGoy qualified for the New England championships in shot put at the 2019 Brown meet with a distance of 12.75 meters. She competed in both discus and shot put at last year's New England meet, and will be putting the shot again at Brown.
