Lagoy, Remkiewicz Top Performers at URI Track Meet

KINGSTOWN, R.I.- The Bryant men's and women's track and field teams competed this weekend at the Sorlein Memorial Invtational, hosted by URI. The Bulldogs had multiple top five finishes, headlined by Lily Lagoy's new school record in the shot put and William Remkiewicz's strong run in the 400 meters.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Lily Lagoy set a new Bryant record with a 13.16 meter throw in the shot put. That distance was also good for second place in the event.

  • William Remkiewicz ran the 400 meters in 50.37 seconds, also good for a second place finish. The time also qualified him for the NEICAAA meet later this year.

  • Trey Muraoka moved into third on Bryant's all-time list in the high jump with a height of 1.91 meters. He finished fifth overall.

  • Julia Ayres picked up the second top three finish for the women, crossing the line in the 3000 meters at 10:46.06.

  • Savannah Pineda finished fourth overall in the 200 meters at 26.59. Her time was also good enough for seventh on the Bulldogs' all-time list.

  • Mason Jones launched into fifth all-time at Bryant in the pole vault. He went as high as 4.20 meters, good for sixth in the event.

  • Bryant had a pair of strong performances in the women's pole vault. Lois Warden came fourth at 3.35 meters, while Sydney Golas's height of 3.05 moved her into fifth on the Bulldogs' top ten list.

Both men's and women's teams will be back in action this coming weekend. They will head to Boston for the two-day Terrier Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
