Garrity, Tondora Set Records at Bates

LEWISTON, ME- The Bryant track and field teams combined for five event wins on Saturday as they competed at the Bates Invitational in Maine. Emma Garrity set a new school record in the 600 meters and Caleb Tondora tied the school record in the high jump. Aidan Hickey, Kasey Thomas, and the women's DMR relay team also picked up wins for the Bulldogs.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Emma Garrity won the 600 meters and established a new program record with a time of 1:36.17. She qualified for the NEICAAA meet in the process, giving her two school records and NEICAAA times this season (500 and 600).

  • Caleb Tondora also completed the trifecta of an event win, school record, and NEICAAA qualifier with his performance in the high jump. His mark of 1.95 meters tied the school record. Divas Cruz finished third in the event at moved into seventh on Bryant's all-time list with a height of 1.85 meters.

  • William Remkiewicz finished top three in both the 200 meters (second, 23.02), and 60 meters (third, 7.17). His time in the 60 is now fifth in program history.

  • Aidan Hickey won the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.72. His time puts him tenth on Bryant's all-time list.

  • The women's distance medley relay team of Sarah Freeman, Emma Grzybinski, Abby Hamilton, and Julia Ayres won with a time of 13:11.19.

  • John Bruder threw for a distance of 13.55 meters in the shot put, good for sixth on Bryant's all-time list.

  • Kasey Thomas won women's shot put with a distance of 12.20 meters.

The Bulldogs will head to Boston next weekend to compete in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University.
