Marshall Named NEC Track Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J.- Freshman jumper Mike Marshall Jr. of the men's track and field team has been named NEC Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career. He hit 1.95 meters in the high jump in Saturday's Black and Gold Invitational, good for second place in the event and a tie for the Bryant program record.

Marshall cleared the 1.95m bar in his first ever collegiate meet on Saturday, doing so on his second attempt. In addition to the Bryant mark, his jump is the third highest in the NEC this outdoor season. Also a member of the Bryant basketball team, Marshall was an all-state performer in the high jump in high school.

Marshall and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action this weekend at the Ocean State Invitational in Providence.
