Bulldogs Post Seven All-New England Performances at NEICAAA's

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant track and field teams competed this weekend at the NEICAAA New England Championships, held on campus at the Track and Turf Complex. 

The Bulldogs posted seven All-New England performances, including a silver medal for William Remkiewicz in the 400 meters and a bronze for the women's 4x100 relay team. Andrew Canale was the lone Bulldog to finish top-eight in multiple events, doing so in the 200 and 400 meters.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Remkiewicz was one of two All-New England finishers for Bryant in the 400. He placed second with a time of 47.29, with Andrew Canale coming sixth at 47.88.

  • Canale also placed eighth in the 200, crossing the line at 21.77.

  • Ana Bertarelli, Nicole Xiarhos, Jasmine Hope, and Savannah Pineda combined for a new school record in the 4x100 on their way to a third place finish. They came home at 46.96 seconds.

  • Nicholas Brancato placed fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a new program record time of 9:27.79.

  • Sarah Freeman came home fifth in the 1500 meters, doing so in 4:40.45.

  • Mike Marshall, Jr. tied his program record in the high jump, finishing eighth at 1.95 meters.
