SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's basketball team hosts the defending Northeast Conference Champions Saint Francis U on Monday, January 21 for a special 2 p.m. matinee for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., both Bryant and Saint Francis will be sporting a special MLK day warmup shirt prior to the game.

Bryant competes with defending NEC champions Saint Francis U in a special MLK day game for a 2 p.m. tip.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis posts a 6-11 overall record and a 3-2 record in conference play, falling most recently to Central Connecticut, 73-62.
Jess Kovatch leads the Red Flash and the NEC in total points with 363 averaging 21.4 points a game. The senior posted a season-best of 31 points against conference foe, Fairleigh Dickinson.
Susan robinson Fructhl leads the Red Flash in her first year as the interim head coach after coaching Saint Francis from 2007-12.

Saint Francis leads the all-time series, 9-8, topping the Bulldogs twice last season.

Bryant clawed its way back into the game against Robert Morris scoring only four points in the first quarter of the game. Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W. Va.) took a three with just seconds to go that rimmed out giving the Colonials the win in Smithfield.
Sophomore Hannah Scanlan (Rumson, N.J.) and Holloway led with 12 points apiece as Holloway tallied another double-double with 12 rebounds to match.
SEEING DOUBLE
Junior forward Sydney Holloway tallies 12 double-doubles so far this season, 31 for her career, leading the NEC. Holloway ranks eighth in the country for her double-double efforts averaging a double-double a night with 17.1 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game.
DISHING IT OUT
Kierra Palmer (Aberdeen, Md,) led the Bulldogs with a season-high 10 assists in conference opener vs. LIU Brooklyn. She currently leads the Bulldogs with 63 assists so far on the season and is ranked second in the NEC for assists per game with 4.2. Palmer is 24 assists away from 500 and only six players in NEC's history has ever reached the milestone.
PICKING POCKETS
Fifth-year Naomi Ashley (Hamilton, Ont.) leads Bryant with 29 steals thus far. Ashley swiped a season-high seven steals against Brown and has followed up her defensive performance compiling 4 at BC and 5 at Hartford. Ashley stole four which is the most shes's stolen against an NEC team this year at Mount St. Mary's.
BOARDING SCHOOL
Bryant is now second in the NEC with 667 rebounds posting 41.69 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs have only been outrebounded three times this year at Boston College, 47-37, Holy Cross, 51-34, and Sacred Heart, 45-41. The Bulldogs were even wtih West Virginia, Brown, and Providence. Holloway leads the Bulldogs and the conference with 200 rebounds ranking her tenth in the country. The junior forward also leads the conference with most offensive rebounds a game with five as she ranks fourth in the country in that category.
