Fortuny and Gallagher hit double figures in loss to Army

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Mariona Planes Fortuny and Nicole Gallagher tallied double figures in the 74-50 loss to Army at the Chace Athletic Center this evening.

Fortuny recorded 12 to lead the Bulldogs, and Gallagher posted 11 points.

 How it Happened

  • The Black and Gold got off to a hot start going on a 7-0 run forcing an Army timeout. Brooke Bjelko scored four, and Gallagher drilled a three.
  • In the remainder of the first quarter, The Black Knights outscored Bryant 14-12, resulting in a 19-14 lead for Bryant. Gallagher scored five, Fortuny tallied four, Juliette Golden had two, and Bjelko registered two.
  • Bryant and Army went back-and-forth in the second quarter with the Bulldogs earning the slight edge 17-15. Alana Perkins led the way in the second quarter with two three-pointers. Kemari Reynolds scored four, Gallagher hit a three, and Bjelko and Golden tallied two.
  • The Black and Gold were outscored 45-16 in the second half, which resulted in a 74-50 loss for Bryant. Gallagher and Fortuny recorded six points, and Marta Neira Martinez tallied two.
