Bjelko reaches 1,000 points in loss to SFU
LORETTO, PA. - Brooke Bjelko of the Bryant University women's basketball team reached 1,000 career points in the 70-62 road loss to Saint Francis U. this evening. Bjelko becomes the sixth player in DI program history to achieve this feat.
Fatou Jallow led all Bulldog scorers with fifteen on 5-of-7 shooting from deep, including going 4-for-4 in the second quarter. Nicole Gallagher posted 13 in the game, giving the Black and Gold two double-digit scorers this evening.

- The Red Flash outscored the Black and Gold 17-6 in the final five minutes of regulation to earn a 70-62 victory.
How it Happened
- SFU got out to a 10-6 lead in the first four minutes of the contest. The Bulldogs responded with a 9-7 run to close out the quarter, resulting in a 15-15 tie. Juliette Golden and Nicole Gallagher led the way in the period with four points each. Shannon O'Connor and Fatou Jallow both hit three-pointers. Bjelko made one free throw.
- The second quarter was all about Jallow, who went 4-for-4 from deep and helped the Black and Gold produce a 28-13 quarter (43-28). Mariona Planes Fortuny and Gallagher produced five points. Marta Neira Martinez and Bjelko scored three each.
- Bryant shot 88% (8-9) from beyond the arc in the first half.
- The first four minutes of the second half were a back and forth affair, with the Bulldogs earning a slight 8-7 edge. Bjelko started the quarter with a layup, and O'Connor hit a three while Fortuny converted a layup forcing an SFU timeout (50-39).
- The remainder of the quarter was similar to the beginning as the Red Flash earned a 5-4 advantage. This gave the Bulldogs a 54-44 lead with ten minutes remaining. Lucie Castagne and Golden scored two points in the quarter.
- During the final quarter of the game, the Black and Gold were outscored 26-8 resulting in a 70-62 loss for Bryant.

- Jallow recorded 15 points on five made three-pointers. She also had six assists.
- Gallagher posted 13 points.
- The Bulldogs shot 47% from the field (24-51) and 64% from deep (9-14).
