Bulldogs head to NY to face SFBK

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - The Bryant University women's basketball team heads to New York to face the Terriers of St. Francis Brooklyn for a one o'clock tip-off on Sunday.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs are 16-8 all-time against the Terriers and hold a 6-4 record in Brooklyn. Bryant defeated SFBk in both of their home meetings last season by scores of 89-88 and 78-61. Brooke Bjelko was the leading scorer in the first game with 19, and Nicole Gallagher led the way with 20 in the second game.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
SFBK heads into Sunday's matchup with an 8-7 record and a 4-3 conference record. The Terriers fell to Fairleigh Dickinson 72-62 on Friday. Madison Stanley carried the load for St. Francis Brooklyn, posting 25 points in the loss. Fruzsina Horvath is the Terriers leading scorer with 13.7 ppg.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Alana Perkins returned to the lineup against Merrimack and went 5-for-6 from three for 15 points. Perkins has made 43 three-pointers this season, which ranks first in the NEC and 35th nationally.
  • Megan Bodziony recorded her second double-figure scoring game of the season yesterday. Bodziony has shot 8-10 from the field in her last two games.
  • Mariona Planes Fortuny grabbed a season-high nine boards for the fifth time this season. Fortuny is averaging a career-high 5.9 RPG, which ranks ninth in the conference.
  • Bjelko led the Bulldogs in scoring for the eighth time this year against the Warriors and has scored at least 10 points in 14 games so far.
  • The Black and Gold are shooting 35% from three-point range, which ranks 39th in the country, and have reached the 60% mark in the past two games.
