Jallow and Bjelko score 12 in loss to FDU

TEANECK, N.J. – The Bryant University women's basketball team lost to Fairleigh Dickinson by a score of 59-52 in a Saturday road matchup.

Brooke Bjelko and Fatou Jallow recorded 12 points, while Nicole Gallagher posted 10 points.

 How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs and Knights had a close affair in the first quarter, with FDU earning a 20-15 edge at the end of the period. Jallow tallied four, Gallagher sank a three, Mariona Planes Fortuny, Bjelko, Lucie Castagne, and Kemari Reynolds had two points.
  • The Knights took control in the second quarter gaining a 14 point lead (40-26) at the half while outscoring Bryant 20-11. There was a stretch with six minutes left, where Jallow, Gallagher, and Castagne drained consecutive three-pointers. Shannon O'Connor recorded two in the quarter.
  • The Black and Gold went on a 14-4 run in the first six minutes of the game, which was led by five points from Bjelko, which shrank the deficit to six (46-40). FDU scored three compared to Bryant's zero resulting in a 48-40 lead for the Knights heading into the fourth quarter.
  • The Bulldogs got the lead down to six with one minute after forcing consecutive FDU turnovers. Castagne missed a three-pointer from the wing, forcing Bryant to foul. The Black and Gold fell 59-52.
