Bulldogs earn 7th seed despite home loss to LIU
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's basketball team fell to the Sharks of Long Island at the Chace Athletic Center by a score of 48-47.
Fatou Jallow posted 12 points. Mariona Planes Fortuny recorded 11, and Alana Perkins tallied 10.

- In the last four and half minutes, LIU went on a 10-0 run to earn a one-point victory.
How it Happened
- LIU started the game on a 7-2 run, and then the Black and Gold responded by outscoring the Sharks 9-7, which resulted in a 14-11 deficit at the end of the first quarter. Fortuny posted four, Perkins nailed a three, and Lucie Castagne and Jallow had two.
- The Bulldogs then scored 14 compared to LIUs 11, making it a 24-23 lead for the Sharks at halftime. Perkins posted five, Castagne hit a triple, Jallow and Fortuny recorded two.
- Bryant dominated the third quarter, exploding for 17 points and holding LIU to two. Jallow scored eight straight points to end the quarter, and the Bulldogs had a 40-26 lead heading into the final period. Fortuny recorded five, and Bjelko tallied four.
- The Black and Gold led 47-38 with 4:27 left after Jallow hit two free-throws. The Sharks would then go on a 10-0 run to finish the game and earn a 48-47 victory over Bryant.
