SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 65 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, including nine earning Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction. In addition, men’s tennis junior Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and women’s tennis senior Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) were recognized as NEC Spring Scholar-Athletes for 2010.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head women’s lacrosse coach Karen Healy is pleased to announce the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, welcoming Katherine Keckeisen (Danbury, Conn.), Kimberley Sniffen (Redding, Conn.) and Lisa Vendel (Sandy Hook, Conn.) to the Bulldog team for the 2011 season to round out the eight-member Class of 2014.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After a stellar rookie campaign that saw her transform into one of the league’s premier defenders, Bryant University women’s lacrosse freshman Nicole Rettinger (Dix Hills, N.Y.) becomes the first player in program history to receive postseason accolades from the Northeast Conference, earning a First Team All-Conference selection as announced by league officials Thursday evening.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Backed by seven goals from senior captain Alli Faiola (Billerica, Mass.) and a career-high four tallies from rookie Emily Bogan (Swansea, Mass.), the Bryant University women’s lacrosse team sent five seniors off with a parting gift Sunday afternoon – a 16-11 victory over Northeast Conference foe Saint Francis (PA) in the 2010 season finale.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team outscored Robert Morris, 8-4, in the second half and cut its deficit to just two goals late in the frame but couldn’t overcome a six-goal halftime deficit, falling to the Colonials, 13-11, Friday afternoon at the Bryant Turf Complex.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team will host a pair of home contests to close out the 2010 season this weekend, hosting Northeast Conference opponent Robert Morris on Friday, April 16 (4 p.m.) before celebrating 2010 Senior Day in the Bulldogs' season finale against Saint Francis (PA) on Sunday, April 18 (1 p.m.).

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team saw goals from its top three scorers in sophomore Lauren Sheridan (Bethpage, N.Y.), junior Meg Atha (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) and senior captain Alli Faiola (Billerica, Mass.), but couldn’t put together enough offensive output to top Northeast Conference opponent Mount St. Mary’s, falling to the home side, 13-3, in the final road contest of the 2010 season.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore leading scorer Lauren Sheridan (Bethpage, N.Y.) tied a career high with her six-point, four-goal performance Friday afternoon against Monmouth, but it wasn’t enough to get the Bryant University women’s lacrosse team a win as the Bulldogs fell, 14-8, to the Hawks in West Long Branch, N.J.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University women’s lacrosse sophomore Lauren Sheridan (Bethpage, N.Y.) scored the equalizer with 7.5 seconds to play in the first overtime period, but Carolyn Clark’s tally just 44 seconds into the second extra frame would win the game for visiting Wagner College in sudden-victory double overtime, 15-14, Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.
