Bulldogs announce 2020 schedule

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University women's lacrosse head coach Brianna Roche is happy to announce the 16-game 2020 schedule. The Bulldogs kick off the spring season on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at home.

The 2020 slate includes teams across seven different conferences and a scrimmage against the defending MAAC champions Fairfield on Feb. 7. The Bulldogs are set to host eight regular-season home matches and endure eight road contests.

Bryant officially kicks off the season with a series of three-straight home games beginning with Quinnipiac on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The two teams have yet to meet since 2014 when the Bulldogs tied the all-time series record at three apiece after an 18-5 victory in Smithfield.

Bryant continues the home-opening stretch with a visit from in-state rival Brown on Feb. 15 and Vermont on Feb. 19.

The first road match of the season takes the Black and Gold to Manhattan on Feb. 22 as the Bulldogs endure a four-game road stretch. Bryant recently took on sophomore transfer Cassidy Burns (Massapequa, N.Y.) who was an All-MAAC Rookie of the Year selection for the Jaspers during the 2019 season. The Black and Gold hold a 2-0 all-time series record over Manhattan after a 17-2 victory in 2015.

Bryant closes out the month of February at UMass Lowell on Feb. 28 before crossing the Mason Dixon Line for a pair of games with Longwood (March 11) and VCU (March 14). Both games mark the first-ever meetings in program history.

The Bulldogs return for a four-game home slate on March 18 as they close out the non-conference schedule with UConn. The two teams met for the first time last season in Storrs when the Bulldogs fell, 15-8.

The Northeast Conference schedule kicks off at home on March 27 with Robert Morris before concluding the home stretch with Saint Francis U (March 29) and the former Division II squad Merrimack (April 3). The Warriors move into their Division I era after posting an 11-8 overall record and bringing home the NE-10 title with a 10-9 decision over Le Moyne.

Bryant hits the road for another four-game stretch with Central Connecticut (April 5), Long Island (April 9), Mount St. Mary's (April 17), and defending NEC Champions Wagner (April 19).

The regular season concludes in Smithfield on April 26 as the Bulldogs are set to meet with Sacred Heart.
