SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
Similar to the Black and Gold, Vermont opened the 2020 season with a 1-1 record thanks to a season-opening win in North Andover over Merrimack, 19-11. The Catamounts followed up the victory with a loss on its home turf to Colgate, 10-8.

Freshman Ava Vasile has been Vermont's offensive force in its last two games as she opened her rookie season with three goals at Merrimack before netting a career-best four against Colgate. Vasile is the top-ranked freshman in the country among teams who have played multiple games so far this season with 3.50 goals per game. On the defensive end, sophomore Carolyn Carrera leads the America East and is fifth in the country averaging 3.50 caused turnovers a game. Carrera is accompanied by sophomore goalkeeper Sophie McLaughlin in the defensive unit. McLaughlin has racked up 17 saves among the two games and allowed 21 for 10.50 goals-against average and .447 save percentage.
