2021 season announced

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's lacrosse head coach Brianna Roche is thrilled to announce the 2021 spring schedule. The long-awaited season kicks off at home on Feb. 27 against Holy Cross.

The Bulldogs are set to play one non-conference game this season before enduring a 12-game conference slate which will follow a Wednesday-Saturday format. Bryant will have exactly one week to prepare for the conference schedule after its meeting with Holy Cross when the Bulldogs hit the road for Mount St. Mary's on March 6.

Bryant returns home on March 13 for a midweek tilt with the newest NEC member Merrimack, who the Bulldogs have yet to meet with since the Warriors began their Division I era a year ago. Despite not meeting with Merrimack last season, the two teams have a long D2 history dating back to 2003. Merrimack and Bryant have met ten times in the Division II era and the Warriors hold the all-time series record, 7-3. The reigning NE-10 champs showed a 1-6 mark in 2020 just before the start of the NEC schedule.

March 13 marks a meeting at Wagner when Bryant goes head-to-head with the defending 2019 NEC Champions in Staten Island. The Black and Gold will then take a full week before hosting LIU in Smithfield on March 20.

A short mid-week road trip takes Bryant to Central Connecticut on March 24 before returning to the Ocean State for a rematch with Mount St. Mary's on March 27.

The Bulldogs will face off at LIU on April 3 before hosting back-to-back home games with Sacred Heart (April 7) and Saint Francis U (April 10). The home series is followed by a two-game road stretch at Sacred Heart (April 17) and Merrimack (April 21). The regular season is set to conclude at home with Central Connecticut on April 24.

The season allows for two makeup dates on April 28 and May 1 before the start of the NEC postseason which is set to kick off May 6 for the first round, followed by the Championship game on May 8.
