Coach Roche's Comments: "We battled against a good team today. With 37 shots we had a number of offensive opportunities, but failed to put the ball away on several occasions. We also needed to cherish the ball in between the lines and clean up a few defensive errors. We'll learn from our mistakes today, refocus, and use this as motivation going into next week."
How it Happened
1st Quarter: The Bulldogs' first goal of the season came courtesy of Phoebe Fox, who scored her first career goal on a free position attempt four and a half minutes into the game. Alexa Weber also found the net later in the period to tie the score at two.
2nd Quarter: The only goal for Bryant in the quarter was the first of three for Kenna Kaut, who scored off an assist from Peyton Woodward. The Bulldogs dominated the draw control battle in the first half, winning seven of nine draws. They were also strong defensively, forcing ten Brown turnovers.
3rd Quarter: The Bears came out hot in the third, scoring a pair of goals in the first three minutes of action. Bryant was outscored 6-1 in the quarter, with Alexa Weber's second goal being the only offense.
4th Quarter: Lily Auger kicked off a wild fourth quarter with a goal less than twenty seconds in. Brown responded with a 3-0 run, but four straight goals by the Bulldogs made it a 12-9 score. The Bears were able to hold off the Bryant run from there, winning by a three goal margin. Kaut and Skylar Simmonds scored twice each for the Bulldogs in the period.
