Bulldogs to Host Mount To Start Conference Play

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will open Northeast Conference play this Saturday at home against Mount St. Mary's, in a rematch of last season's NEC semifinals. The game will also be the Bulldogs' first this season at Beirne Stadium.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters conference play as one of the top scoring teams in the country. They are fifth in the nation with 24.20 points per game and 16th at 15.40 goals per game. Both marks lead the NEC.

  • Cassidy Burns ranks second in the nation with 3.20 assists per game. She and Chamberlaine Bell (1.60 apg) have the top two assist marks in the NEC.

  • Amelia Piercy comes into the game fresh off her first career NEC weekly honor. Piercy was named Rookie of the Week after her three goal performance against New Hampshire.

Scouting the Mountaineers

  • Mount enters Saturday's NEC opener at 6-3. They're coming off a 2021 season that saw them go 14-3 and capture the NEC championship

  • Player to Watch: Grad student attacker Zoe Hurlburt is third in the NEC averaging three goals per game. Her 24 goals and nine assists give her a team leading 33 points this season.

  • Bryant is 6-9 all-time against the Mount, with their last matchup a 12-10 final in last season's NEC tournament. The Bulldogs' last win in the series came in 2018 in Emmitsburg.
