Bulldogs To Host UMass Lowell Wednesday Evening

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will be home again this Wednesday, hosting UMass Lowell under the lights at Beirne Stadium. The Bulldogs will take on the River Hawks in their penultimate non-conference game of the regular season. They're currently riding a three game win streak that has propelled them to the top spot in the NEC.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Sam Centofante is coming off her first career NEC weekly award, having been named NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. She saved 17 shots against eleven goals allowed in the Bulldogs' wins over Sacred Heart and LIU last week.

  • Chamberlaine Bell led the team with a season high five assists in Saturday's win over LIU. She currently ranks second in the conference with two assists per game and is fourth at 3.38 points per game. 

  • The Bulldogs have five players in the NEC's top ten in points, with Kenna Kaut, Skylar Simmonds, Cassidy Burns, Alexa Weber, and Bell all averaging at least three per game.

Scouting the River Hawks

  • UMass Lowell comes into Wednesday's game 0-3 in the America East and 2-9 overall this season. Their most recent win was a 25-3 triumph over Wofford on March 9.

  • Player to Watch: Junior defender Layton Nass leads the team and is fourth in the AEC with 1.55 caused turnovers per game (17 total). She is also the team leader with 18 ground balls and has five goals and six assists.

  • Bryant is 4-1 all-time against UML, including a 2-0 record at home. They have won each of the last two meetings, with their last matchup a 16-10 win in February 2020.
