Bryant Rounds Out Regular Season at Wagner

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will head to Staten Island for their final regular season game this Saturday against Wagner, with an opportunity to clinch an outright NEC regular season championship for the sixth time. The Bulldogs are on the precipice of two individual records, with Cassidy Burns tying the Bryant career assist record and Emily Diaz three draw controls shy of the program single season record.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Cassidy Burns recorded five assists in Wednesday's win over Central Connecticut, her fifth straight game with at least four assists and five points. She tied the program career record with 85 assists in the game.

  • Emily Diaz won 15 draw controls against the Blue Devils, one shy of her season and career high. She now has 115 on the season, more than anyone in the NEC and two shy of the Bryant all-time record.

  • With a win over Wagner, the Bulldogs will not only clinch the outright regular season title, they will go undefeated in conference play for the third time in program history and the first since 2017.

Scouting the Seahawks

  • Wagner comes into the NEC finale with a 5-2 record in conference and 7-9 overall. They've won each of their last two games, defeating Sacred Heart and Howard.

  • Player to Watch: Senior midfielder Kasey Dorney leads the Seahawks with 29 goals and 36 total points this season. She's also the team leader with 49 draw controls.

  • Bryant is 10-7 all-time against Wagner, including a 5-2 record on Staten Island. The Bulldogs' last win in the series came in April 2018.
