Bulldogs Complete First Division I Race at HOCR

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Bryant women's rowing team competed in their first event as a Division I varsity program this weekend, racing in the Club 8+ class at the Head of the Charles Regatta. It was the Bulldogs' first time competing in the event, including their years as a club team.

Coach Ricker: The team had a good showing this weekend by passing six boats and moving up four positions. We are excited to have been able to boat an 8+ at HOCR for the first time in Bryant history and to have had such a strong piece. Only two of our athletes had ever been on the water at Head of the Charles prior to this year, but showed themselves to be confident and competitive in an extremely experienced field of competitors. I'm excited for the great improvements that the athletes have been able to make in just a few short weeks and for the foundation that this sets for the program to build off of. The athletes handled themselves extremely well on and off the water in a high-pressure situation this weekend.

The lineup of Delaney Gagnon (coxswain), Erin Prouty (stroke), Megan Hart, Lucy Burke, Lauren Barry, Anna Fijnvandraat, Jordan Grady, Sunny Kuechle, and Kristia King (bow) completed the course in 19:52.391, 34th out of 40 teams.
