Dalton named NEC Defensive Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University women's soccer goalie Meghan Dalton (West Hartford, Conn.) was named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Dalton earns the honor after helping the Bulldogs post a 1-0-1 record over the weekend. She posted seven saves and allowed just one goal.

On Friday, Dalton posted four saves in a 2-0 shutout of St. Francis Brooklyn. She followed that up with three saves in a 1-1 tie against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. Dalton's three saves helped the Bulldogs remain in first place in the NEC standings.

In addition, Remi Manna (Pleasantville, N.Y.) was named an NEC Prime Performer. Manna scored the game-tying goal in the 89th minute against FDU on Sunday.
