Bulldogs advance to playoffs despite loss to SHU

FAIRFIELD, CONN. - Jordyn Collins of the Bryant University women's soccer team scored in the 4-1 loss to Sacred Heart on Sunday. The Bulldogs will advance to the Northeast Conference playoffs after Howard tied with Fairleigh Dickinson to secure the 4th seed for the Black and Gold.

Game Information
Sacred Heart 4, Bryant 1
Records: Bryant (8-9), SHU (8-6-2)
Location: Brooklyn, N.Y. (LIU Soccer Field)

Coach Biggs' Comments

"We're disappointed with the result today. We started really well and scored an excellent goal in the first three minutes. Despite the great start, we allowed Sacred Heart to take the initiative and they capitalized on the opportunity. We were less and less confident with the ball as the half wore on and there was too much space between our lines in defense. The second half was better, but not enough to shift the tide of the game. If we have the opportunity to play again, we'll play with more confidence and cohesion in defense".

  • The Pioneers scored three goals in the first half.
