Five Bulldogs earn All-NEC honors

SOMERSET, N.J. - Five members of the Bryant University women's soccer team were named to the All-NEC teams by the Northeast Conference on Thursday afternoon.

Catherine Bean and Emma Pedolzky both earned All-NEC Second Team and all-rookie team honors, while Kathryn McNeil also received second-team honors. Rachel Roman and Jordyn Collins were selected to the NEC All-Rookie team.

Bean received All-NEC Second Team and NEC All-Rookie team honors after enjoying the best offensive season in DI program history. She posted seven goals and six assists this season for a total of 20 points. Her mark of 20 points is the highest for a season in DI program history. Bean shined in the month of October, recording four goals and five assists in seven games.

Classmate Pedolzky also received All-NEC second team and NEC All-Rookie team honors. Pedolzky tallied four goals, five assists, and 13 points in her first season as a Bulldog. Three of Pedolzky's goals this year were game-winners, and she also set up the game-winning goal against CCSU.

Sophomore McNeil missed the first eight games due to injury and then returned to put together a masterful season in goal. In nine starts, McNeil recorded eight wins and five shutouts, including a streak of four shutouts in a row. McNeil posted a save percentage of .789 and a GAA of 1.13.

Freshman Collins and Roman earned the honor of the NEC All-Rookie team. Collins recorded two goals and two assists this season. Both of her assists were game-winners to Katie Cronin in overtime. Roman started 13 games in 2021 and recorded her first career assist in the 5-3 win against Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 3).

This is the third consecutive season that the Black and Gold have had at least five players make an All-NEC team. Bryant's four all-rookie team honorees are the most for any school in the conference.

The Bulldogs will face off against number one seeded CCSU at one o'clock on Friday in the NEC Semi-Final game.
