2021 NEC Diving Championships Preview

New Britain, Conn. - The Bryant University men's and women's diving team will begin the 2021 Northeast Conference Diving Championships tomorrow at Central Connecticut.

Senior Gabrielle Ritzer was named the NEC Diver of the week twice for her efforts against CCSU and URI. Sophomore Kate Kirves was also named the NEC Diver of the Week after claiming victory in the three-meter dive (203.68) against UCONN. Sophomore Kyri Chambo is looking to replicate her performance from last season when she was named the NEC Diver of the Meet after winning gold medals in both the one and three-meter dives. Freshman Rose Cunningham will be making her NEC Championship debut for the Bulldogs.

The men joined the NEC this season and will be competing in their first NEC Championship. Senior Zach Vogel was victorious in the one-meter dive against Boston University (252.38), and at last year's MAAC Championship, Vogel qualified for the "A" final in the one and three-meter dives. Senior Trevor Hazlewood hopes to collect more hardware as he placed third last season in the one-meter dive. Juniors Benjamin Prouty and Evan Clark both had top-three finishes this season, including a victory from Clark in the one-meter (249.38) against BU. Sophomore Drew Arnold qualified for the "A" final in the one-meter last season, and classmate John Famiglietti produced multiple top-three finishes this season.
