Bulldogs drop season opener at BC
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team fell to Boston College on Saturday morning.
Coach Cilli's Comments
"Tough start vs. a strong team. Definitely showed us where we need to focus our attention in the upcoming week. Very strong showing at third doubles with their win and by Leanne [Kendall] who took BC to a third-set tiebreak. Our plan was to neutralize their games and we did a decent job of that. But, I know we are capable of more."
How it Happened (Doubles)
- Bryant picked up an impressive victory at No. 3 as Caterina Luisa Rokke (Oslo, Norway) and Leanne Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) won, 6-4.
- Boston College won the double point with 6-0 and 6-2 victories at the top two spots.
How it Happened (Singles)
- Kendall continued her strong play in singles, taking her match to a third set. She won the first set, 6-3, but fell in the second set, 3-6. She lost the tiebreak, 13-11.
- BC took each of the other five singles matches in straight sets.
