Women's tennis falls to St. John's, UMass

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team dropped its final two regular-season matches over the weekend, falling to St. John's and UMass.

Coach Cilli's Comments

"We fought hard today against UMass. It was a really good battle. Now our focus is on the NEC Tournament."

How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs dropped all six singles matches against St. John's on Saturday at Providence College. The two teams did not play doubles.
  • Leanne Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) had a strong showing, taking her opponent to a third set at No. 5.
  • On Sunday, Bryant put forth an incredible effort against UMass.
  • Megan Tan (Calgary, Alberta) and Aleksi Gottlieb (Plantation, Fla.) were down 6-5 when the match went unfinished at No. 2 doubles.
  • In singles, Ada Boru (Istanbul, Turkey) was up a set at No. 1 before the match went unfinished.
  • At No. 6, Gabrielle Bergeron (Quebec, Canada) was in the third set when it went unfinished.
