Women's tennis tabbed as co-favorites in preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Bryant University women's tennis team has been as a co-preseason Northeast Conference favorite in a vote of league coaches, the league announced on Wednesday.

Bryant was picked as co-favorites with Fairleigh Dickinson. Long Island also received first-place votes and was tabbed third. Sacred Heart, Saint Francis U, Wagner, Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn round out the field.

The Bulldogs have reached the semi-final round of the NEC Championships six-straight years, playing for an NEC title in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. Bryant claimed the 2015 NEC Championship.

Bryant returns former NEC Rookie of the Year Arianna Oropeza and All-NEC performers Ada Boru, Leanne Kendall and Sarah Hickey.

The Black and Gold open their season on Saturday, Feb. 27 against Providence College. The match will be played at Rally Point in Greenville, R.I.
