SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University women's tennis team dropped its season opener to Rhode Island, 4-3, on Saturday night at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport.

How It Happened

• Bryant claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2. Ada Boru and Leanne Kendall won 6-3 and Sarah Hickey and Arianna Oropeza won 7-6.
• The Rams won the match with singles victories at 1, 4, 5 and 6. 
• Hickey and Oropeza each won in three sets at 2 and 3. 
• URI was able to snag the match with a come-from-behind 3-set victory at No. 1.
