Bulldogs opens season vs Fordham

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University women's tennis team opened its 2021 fall season on Sunday against Fordham. 

Bryant won two of the three doubles matches played, while Fordham took four of the seven singles matches.

"We took three matches in singles and two of three in doubles, so of course we are happy with that considering it was our first outing of the season. Ada was great at No. 1, Olivia was great at No. 6 and Caitlyn Munson had an awesome debut, coming back from a set down. It was a long day of tennis but a lot of positive things came out of our performance."

Doubles Recap

• Ada Boru and Leanne Kendall formed Bryant's top doubles team on Sunday and earned a 6-3 victory. 
• Camila Baeza and Olivia Rondini took over a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Singles Recap

• Bryant picked up victories from Boru, Munson and Rondini. 
• Boru earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory as Bryant's No. 1.
• Playing her first collegiate match, Munson dropped her first set 2-6 before battling back with 6-4, 6-4 victories.
• Rondini claimed Bryant's final singles victory, winning 7-6, 6-2.
