SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Former Bryant University volleyball standout Sarah Smith ('03) was named one of the AVCA's Thirty Under 30, a recognition given out to honor the 30 top up-and-coming coaches across all levels of the volleyball world under 30 years old.

The Bryant University womens volleyball team was presented with the Shawn M. Nassaney Award as Program of the Year for 2008-09 during halftime of a recent womens basketball team in February. The award, given to one team at the conclusion of each academic year, recognizes outstanding achievement in the classroom, on the court and in the community.

Former Bryant University womens volleyball standout Elysce Tackmann, currently the head womens volleyball coach at Anna Maria College, will be attending a tryout for the U.S. National Womens Volleyball Team held February 19th -21st at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
BRYANT TO INDUCT THREE INTO ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME

SMITHFIELD, R.I. The Bryant University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce three new additions to the schools Athletics Hall of Fame for 2010. Former volleyball setter Britta Beckman 04 (Omaha, Neb.), baseball pitcher Mike Florest 04 (Franklin, Mass.) and womens soccer forward Allison Kelly 04 (Trumbull, Conn.) round out this years Hall of Fame class, bringing the total number elected into the Hall to 84 members. The three will be officially inducted during the summer of 2011 in conjunction with the Black & Gold Golf Tournament, as the Hall of Fame Dinner will move to a biennial rotation.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. Head coach Theresa Garlacy is pleased to announce the addition of seven student-athletes to the 2010 Bryant University volleyball team. Five incoming recruits were signed to National Letters of Intent with two more signing on to join the Class of 2014. The group of seven incoming freshmen include players hailing from five different states and will fill holes across all positions for the 2010 Bulldogs.
