SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head volleyball coach Theresa Garlacy is pleased to announce the 2010 Bulldog fall schedule, featuring 35 games against 12 different conferences as the Bulldogs enter their third season of NCAA Division I competition.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Former Bryant University volleyball standout Sarah Smith ('03) was named one of the AVCA's Thirty Under 30, a recognition given out to honor the 30 top up-and-coming coaches across all levels of the volleyball world under 30 years old.

The Bryant University women’s volleyball team was presented with the Shawn M. Nassaney Award as Program of the Year for 2008-09 during halftime of a recent women’s basketball team in February. The award, given to one team at the conclusion of each academic year, recognizes outstanding achievement in the classroom, on the court and in the community.

Former Bryant University women’s volleyball standout Elysce Tackmann, currently the head women’s volleyball coach at Anna Maria College, will be attending a tryout for the U.S. National Women’s Volleyball Team held February 19th -21st at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce three new additions to the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame for 2010. Former volleyball setter Britta Beckman ’04 (Omaha, Neb.), baseball pitcher Mike Florest ’04 (Franklin, Mass.) and women’s soccer forward Allison Kelly ’04 (Trumbull, Conn.) round out this year’s Hall of Fame class, bringing the total number elected into the Hall to 84 members. The three will be officially inducted during the summer of 2011 in conjunction with the Black & Gold Golf Tournament, as the Hall of Fame Dinner will move to a biennial rotation.

SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 55 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, including seven student-athletes earning Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction announced this week by the conference office.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After leading the Northeast Conference in blocks throughout the 2009 season, Bryant University sophomore Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) became the first Bulldog volleyball player to garner conference postseason honors, being named to the All-NEC Second Team as announced by league officials Friday night.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Head coach Theresa Garlacy is pleased to announce the addition of seven student-athletes to the 2010 Bryant University volleyball team. Five incoming recruits were signed to National Letters of Intent with two more signing on to join the Class of 2014. The group of seven incoming freshmen include players hailing from five different states and will fill holes across all positions for the 2010 Bulldogs.
