Bulldogs release 2021 slate

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In a year like no other, head coach of the Bryant University volleyball team Theresa Garlacy has announced the Bulldogs' 2021 schedule. The schedule includes nine conference matches and one non-conference meeting. The NEC slate features three home dates and all NEC dates will be a doubleheader.

"The players and the coaches are more than ready to compete this spring," stated Garlacy. "We have all been using this time to prepare both physically and mentally for the challenges that will inevitably pop up this season. I can't wait to see the fruits of our labor pay off as a competitive advantage."

Bryant kicks off the 2021 season at in-state rival Providence on Feb. 14 for the lone non-conference matchup of the 10-match slate. The Bulldogs have met with the Friars every season since entering its Division I era as they hold the all-time series record, 8-4, after a 3-1 victory in 2019.

The Black and Gold will endure a 15-day gap before the start of the NEC schedule when the Bulldogs host Merrimack on Tuesday, March 2.

The next two contests put the Bulldogs on the road when they visit Sacred Heart (Feb. 8) before visiting Fairleigh Dickinson (Feb. 17).

After splitting with Central Connecticut in 2019, the Bulldogs host the Blue Devils (March 23) followed by a quick road trip to Brooklyn to meet with St. Francis Brooklyn (March 26). Bryant concludes the regular season at home against LIU (March 31).

The NEC Championship will be contested on April 3 with No. 1 hosting No. 2 to determine the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
