Volleyball hires Sperry as Graduate Assistant

SMITHFIELD, RI- Bryant University head volleyball coach Theresa Garlacy has announced the hiring of Kirstyn Sperry as a graduate assistant on the Bulldog coaching staff.

Sperry is a 2019 graduate of Bryant, with a dual degree in finance and accounting, and was a four year member of the Bulldogs' volleyball team. She set multiple records during her career, including the single season and career marks for aces. Sperry also left the program tied for the most matches played in Bryant's Division I era, and ranks third in program history in career digs and career assists. A team captain her senior year, Sperry led the Black and Gold to their first-ever Northeast Conference tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. She was twice named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll, and in 2017 was named NEC Setter of the Year and all-conference first team.

Sperry brings prior coaching experience as a coach for the AZ Spiral club teams in her hometown of Phoenix, AZ, and as a coach and mentor at Bryant volleyball camps.

The Bulldogs will open their season August 27 in Kingston, R.I. in the URI tournament. The team will open their home schedule with the Bryant Invitational, September 3-4. The full 2021 schedule is available HERE.
