Volleyball Travels for Rematch with Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will travel to Providence tonight for their second meeting with Brown. The Bulldogs will look to exact revenge, as they fell to the Bears in the opening match of the Bryant Invitational.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • After two weeks, Bryant leads the NEC in team attack percentage (.235) and blocks (2.02/set) and is second in opponent's attack % (.184), assists (11.83/set), kills (13.35/set) and service aces (1.83/set).

  • Alysa Wright leads the conference with 33 total blocks (1.43/set) and is second in attack percentage (.336). Riley James is tops in the conference with 12 service aces (0.52/set).

  • The Bulldogs' 3-1 win over Holy Cross on Saturday featured 12 aces,  which ties the team record for most aces in a four set match. Riley James and Abby Rae each had four aces to lead the team.

  • Haley O'Brien enters tonight's match with 194 career blocks. She is looking to become the seventh player in Bryant's Division I history to record 200 career rejections.

 

Scouting the Bears

  • Brown went 2-1 at the Bryant Invitational, defeating Bryant and Holy Cross and falling to Boston College. Tonight will be their fourth match of the season.

  • Player to Watch: Sophomore right side Kate Sheire leads Brown with 30 kills and is second on the team with six total blocks. She posted a match high 14 kills in last Friday's meeting with Bryant.

  • Bryant is now 7-18 all-time against Brown, and 3-7 in Division I.
