Match Information

Bryant 3, SFC 1 (21-25, 25-14, 27-25, 25-11)

Records: Bryant (10-8, 3-0 NEC), SFC (4-13, 1-2 NEC)

Location: Genovesi Center (Brooklyn Heights, NY)

Coach Garlacy's Comments:

"We had three athletes with double-doubles and despite inconsistent play, we were able to peak at the right moments. Caroline Kennedy led us in kills, but the team effort, especially on blocking, made all the difference."

How it Happened

Set 1: Bryant scored the first five points of the set, and continued to grow their lead to 10-1. St. Francis came back, however, using a 7-0 run to tie the set at 15. The Terriers took the lead, and eventually won the set by four points. Caroline Kennedy led the Bulldogs with six kills in the set.

Set 2: The second set was more evenly matched to start, as both teams traded points. SFC took the lead at 12-9, but Bryant turned the tides with an 11-0 scoring run to turn that deficit into a 20-12 advantage. They would go on to win the set by eleven points. Emma McGovern had five kills and a block in the set for the Bulldogs.

Set 3: The Bulldogs led most of the third set, but St. Francis used another comeback to tie the score at 23 and eventually take the lead, 25-24. Bryant scored three straight points to take the lead back and win the set. Bryant registered 15 kills and four blocks as a team in the set.

Set 4: Bryant once again got out to a big lead, going up 10-2 to start the final set. They held onto the lead this time, pulling away to win by 14, their largest margin of victory in a set this season. Riley James had four kills in the set, and the Bulldog defense held SFC to a -.088 attack percentage.
