Volleyball Hosts FDU, SFU This Weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team wraps up a four game homestand this weekend as they host Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis (PA) in the fourth week of NEC action.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant leads the NEC in team kills (1013, 13.33 per set). Riley James, Caroline Kennedy, and Emma McGovern are all in the top ten in the conference in individual kills.

  • Kennedy is approaching some milestones during her senior season. She is twenty kills away from being the fourth Bulldog in the D-I era with 1000 career kills, and is six blocks from reaching 200 for her career.

  • Haley O'Brien was named an NEC Prime Performer this week after posting 15 total kills, raising her career total to 492. She also finished the week with a .583 attack percentage and had four total blocks, including three solos.

FDU Preview: Scouting the Knights

  • FDU is 5-14 overall this season, including an 0-5 record in the NEC.

  • Player to Watch: Sophomore outside hitter Madisyn Beirne leads the Knights and is sixth in the NEC in kills (160, 2.91 per set). She is also second on the team in aces and third in digs.

  • Bryant is 21-8 (21-6 in D-I) all-time against FDU, including 14 straight wins dating to 2013.

SFU Preview: Scouting the Red Flash

  • Saint Francis is 4-1 in the NEC, putting them in a three-way tie with Bryant and LIU atop the standings. They are 8-9 overall.

  • Player to Watch: Senior outside hitter Madi Tyus leads the NEC in kills (291, 4.28). She is also third on the team in digs and aces and is a two-time conference player of the week already this season.

  • Bryant is 12-11 all-time against SFU (all in D-I), including five straight wins dating to 2017.
