Volleyball Visits FDU, SFU This Weekend

TEANECK, N.J./LORETTO, PA- The Bryant women's volleyball team will look to defend first place in the NEC this weekend as they continue their road trip against Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis (PA).

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Emma McGovern led Bryant with 11 kills, 14 digs, and three aces in their 3-0 sweep of Merrimack last weekend. It was her fourth double-double of the season.

  • Mia Cergol posted her seventh double-double of the year in the Merrimack game, with 33 assists and 10 digs.

  • Alysa Wright and Caroline Kennedy both enter this weekend with 199 career blocks. They would be the 8th and 9th players in Bryant's D-I era to reach the 200 career block plateau.

FDU Preview: Scouting the Knights

  • Fairleigh Dickinson is 6-16 (1-7 NEC) this season. They are 7th in the conference standings.

  • Player to Watch: Graduate student outside hitter Miriam Stingl leads the team with 181 kills and 18 aces. She is also second on the team in digs and third in blocks.

  • Bryant swept FDU on Oct. 15 in Smithfield. It was the Bulldogs' 15th straight win over the Knights.

SFU Preview: Scouting the Red Flash

  • Saint Francis is 10-10 overall on the season. They are tied for second in the NEC at 6-2, one game behind Bryant for the top spot.

  • Player to Watch: Senior outside hitter Madi Tyus leads the NEC with 337 total kills. She is also second on the team in digs and third in aces, and is a three-time and most recent NEC Player of the Week.

  • Bryant beat SFU 3-1 on Oct. 16. It was their sixth straight win versus the Red Flash and broke a tie atop the conference standings.
