Volleyball Releases Full 2022 Schedule

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Bryant women's volleyball coach Theresa Garlacy has announced the team's full 2022 schedule. The Bulldogs will contest thirty regular season matches from August into November, including twelve at home in the Chace Athletic Center.

Bryant will kick off the season on Long Island with three matches at the Hofstra Tournament on August 26-27. They will start play against Miami before taking on Niagara and the host Pride. The team will host Stonehill on August 30 in the home opener before welcoming Harvard, Montana State, and Boston College to the Chace for the Bryant Invitational on Sep. 2-3. The team will then round out the five-match homestand against Brown on Sep. 6.

The Bulldogs will follow with seven contests on the road, starting with the St. John's Tournament on Sep. 9-10 against Louisiana, the host Red Storm, and Southeastern Louisiana. They will return to Rhode Island for a road match at URI on Sep. 13 before heading to the UConn Tournament on Sep. 16-17 against Lindenwood, Syracuse, and the host Huskies. The team will host Hartford on Sep. 20 and travel to Boston College on the 28th before starting conference play.

The Bulldogs' inaugural America East Conference match will take place in Baltimore on October 1 vs. UMBC. Their first home AEC home matches will come the following weekend with Albany on Oct. 7 and New Hampshire on the 9th. They will continue conference play the next weekend at Binghamton before facing former NEC foe Central Connecticut in New Britain on Oct. 18. The following weekend will be split between a home match against NJIT on Oct. 21 and a road trip to Albany on the 23rd.

Bryant will host Merrimack in another NEC rematch on Oct. 26 before traveling to New Hampshire on the 30th. The team's final non-conference game will be at Hartford on November 2, with the final regular season road game at NJIT on the 6th. The Bulldogs will host UMBC and Binghamton on Nov. 11 and 13 to round out the calendar. The America East Tournament will take place the following weekend, hosted by the highest seed.

The Bulldogs will face six teams for the first time ever in 2022: Miami, Niagara, Montana State, Louisiana, Southeastern Louisiana, and Lindenwood. They will also reignite their rivalry with Stonehill in the programs' first meeting in 15 years and first-ever as D-I opponents. The Bulldogs and Skyhawks squared off 43 times at the D-II level, the second most frequent opponent in program history across all divisions.
