Black earns a spot on NEC Mount Rushmore

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant Cross Country alumni Eimear Black '14 was placed on the Northeast Conference Mount Rushmore for women's cross country on November 17 as announced by the conference.

Black put together the greatest cross country career that Bryant has ever seen during her four-year career in Smithfield from 2010-13. A two-time NEC Individual Champion as a junior and senior, and second-place finisher as a sophomore, Black set the Bryant University course record as a junior when the Bulldogs hosted the NEC Championship in 2012. With a record-breaking time of 17:34.9, Black was also named the NEC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year that same season. She continued her success that season by finishing fifth overall at the New England Championship (17:21.67) and 35th at the NCAA Regional meet (20:52.6).

As a senior, Black repeated as an NEC Individual Champion, First Team All-NEC honoree, NEC Fall Scholar-Athlete, and NEC Athlete of the Year. She continued to finish 21st out of 254 runners in the NCAA Regional as she earned All-Northeast Honors with a time of 20:53.6. During her senior campaign, Black finished in first place in three out of the five races she competed in that season.
