Bryant announces All-Decade squad

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's cross country program announced its All-Decade Team on Wednesday and highlights five men and five women who were standouts during their time with the Black and Gold.

The cross-country program has seen tremendous success and growth over the past decade as a full-time NCAA Division I member. Collectively between the men and women, the Bulldogs earned 20 individual All-Conference honors, three NEC Rookie of the Weeks, two NEC Outstanding Performers, two NEC Individual Championship titles, and one Coach of the Year. Bryant even hosted three NEC Championship meets over the decade including the memorable 2018 race that ran in a Nor'easter.

Ten Bulldogs were selected for All-Decade honors for their consistent individual success that helped push Bryant to some of its best seasons.

 

2014-16 – Milan Duka
Led the Bulldogs as Bryant's top runners in 2015 and 2016 … Earned All-NEC honors during all three seasons in the Black and Gold … Posted his best NEC Championship finish in 2016 when he finished seventh overall … Finished 10th in 2015 and ninth in 2014 at the NEC Championships … Helped lead the men's team to two-straight third-place finishes at the NEC Championship in 2014 and 2015, followed by a sixth-place team finish in 2016 … Most notably finished 51st at the New England Championship with a time of 25:49.0 … Earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 30, 2014 and NEC Athlete of the Week on Oct. 6, 2015. 

 

2012-15 – Russell Stevens ('16)
Earned All-NEC honors as a senior in 2015 with a 14th-place finish at the NEC Championship … Helped lead the men's team to two back-to-back third-place team finishes at NECs in 2014 and 2015 … Finished 154th at the NCAA Regionals with a time of 33:22.0 as a senior.

 

2009-12 – Dave Hurley ('13)
Led the Bulldogs in a combined ten-of-12 races during his junior and senior seasons … Posted his best finish at the NEC Championships as a junior earning All-NEC distinction with a 14th-place finish … Led the Bulldogs with a 28th-place finish at NECs as a sophomore.

 

2015-18 – Matt McGovern ('19)
Earned All-NEC honors as a senior with a 14th-place finish … Helped the men's team to a third-place team finish at NECs as a freshman … Ran a personal-best at the NEICAAA Championship as senior with a time of 26:10.9 for a 57th-place finish … Led the Bulldogs at the NCAA Regionals as a junior.

 

2013-16 – Richard Landry ('17)
Helped the men's team to back-to-back third-place finishes at the NEC Championship finishing 17th and 15th overall as a sophomore and junior …  Finished 32nd at NECs as a senior and 25th as a freshman … Finished 20th at the Nassaney Invitational as a senior with a season-best time 27:00.0.

 

2010-13 – Eimear Black ('14)
Put together one of the greatest cross country careers in Bryant's history … Back-to-back NEC Individual Champion as a junior and senior … Crossed the finish line over a minute faster than the next competitor in the 2013 NEC Championship … NEC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year as a junior … Finished second at NECs as a sophomore and 64th as a freshman … 3x All-NEC honoree … Finished 21st out of 254 runners at the NCAA Northeast Regional in 2013 earning All-Northeast Honors … Finished second at the New England Championships in 2013 … Finished fifth at New Englands and 35th at the NCAA Regionals as a junior.

 

2010-14 – Martha Reynolds ('15)
Competed in four seasons for the Black and Gold but skipped the 2011 season due to injury … A 3x All-NEC honoree … Posted her best finish at the NEC Championship in 2013 in fourth-place … Finished fifth at NECs in 2012 and 2014 … Crossed the finish line in 17th at the NEC Championship during her rookie season … Finished tenth at the New England Championship in 2014 with a time of 17:57.82 … Earned the team's only Rookie of the Week honor in 2010.

 

2012-14 – Annmarie Tuxbury ('16)
Competed in three seasons for the Bulldogs from 2012-2014 … A three-time All-NEC honoree … Earned NEC Rookie of the Year in 2012 after leading all freshmen across the finish line at the NEC Championship with a ninth-place finish … Posted back-to-back ninth-place finishes at NECs as a freshman and sophomore followed by  an eighth-place finish during her third season with the Black and Gold in 2014 … Earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors on three occasions … Posted her best finish of 117 at the NCAA Regional during her rookie campaign.

 

2016-17 – Melissa Lodge ('18)
A freshman transfer from the University of Louisville who did not compete until her junior season in 2016 … A two-time All-NEC honoree … Led the Bulldogs with an 11th-place finish at the NEC Championship as a junior followed by a sixth-place finish as a senior in 2017 … Finished 12th at the ECAC Championship in 2016 with a season-best time of 19:04 … Finished among the top-15 in six of the seven events as a senior.

 

2012-15 – Erin Svensen ('16)
A four-year runner for the Bulldogs from 2012-14 … Earned All-NEC honors as a senior for finishing ninth overall at the NEC Championship … Helped the Bulldogs to their best team finishes at the NEC Championship with two third-place finishes and back-to-back second-place honors.
