SOMERSET, N.J. -- It was another record-breaking semester for Bryant University student-athletes in the fall, as a total of 135 student-athletes were named to the Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Cross Country Competes at NCAA Regionals

November 15, 2021

LOWELL, MA- The Bryant men’s and women’s cross country teams competed over the weekend at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, hosted by UMass Lowell. The men’s squad came 30th, their best ever finish in the meet, while the women placed 35th. Ryan Slaney (33:44) and Sarah Freeman (23:47) were the Bulldogs’ top runners.

Cross Country Teams Finish Top-Five at NEC's

NEW BRITAIN, CT- The Bryant men’s and women’s cross country teams placed fourth and fifth, respectively, at the NEC Championships, hosted by CCSU. Ryan Slaney was the top finisher for the men with an 8k time of 26:55.30. Sarah Freeman led the women with a 5k time of 19:01.80.

Bittrich, Ayres Pace Cross Country Teams at CCSU

October 23, 2021

NEW BRITAIN, CT- The Bryant cross country teams competed at the Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet on Friday, their last tune-up before the NEC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30. The men’s squad came home in 6th while the women finished 11th. William Bittrich (15:13.3, 5k) and Julia Ayres (10:30.3, 3k) were the top finishers for the Bulldogs.

Freshman Ryan Slaney was named NEC Rookie of the Week for his run at the Vermont Fall Foliage Invite over the weekend. Slaney was Bryant's second place finisher, placing ninth out of 74 competitors with a time of 26:33.9 in the 8k. It is the first NEC weekly honor of his career.

Bittrich, Freeman Lead XC at Fall Foliage Invite

ST. ALBAN’S, VT- The Bryant cross country teams competed at the Vermont Fall Foliage Invite on Saturday. The men came third and the women finished in fourth place. William Bittrich was the high finisher for the men, coming in seventh place with a time of 26:29.7 in the 5k, while Ryan Slaney had his best career result, finishing ninth with a time of 26:33.9. Sarah Freeman led the way on the women’s side, finishing 12th with a 19:35.3 time in the 3k. Julia Ayres and Abigail Hamilton also finished in the top twenty for the Bulldogs.

Men's XC Has Best Ever Result at New England Meet

BOSTON, MA- The Bryant men’s and women’s cross country teams placed 13th and 20th at the NEICAAA New England Championships on Saturday. William Bittrich was the top finisher for the men with an 8k time of 26:31.7, while Sarah Freeman paced the women with a 5k time of 19:31.5. The 13th place finish for the men’s squad was their best result in meet history.

NEW BRITAIN, CT- The Bryant cross country teams both placed in the top five in the Central Connecticut Ted Owens Invitational on Saturday, with the men coming fourth and the women fifth. Jason Dolan was the top finisher for the Bryant men and Sarah Freeman led the way on the women’s side.

Men’s Cross Country picked fifth in NEC preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J.: The Bryant men’s cross country team has been ranked fifth in the Northeast Conference’s preseason poll. The results were announced Tuesday. Wagner is the top pick in the poll, taking eight first place votes. Central Connecticut comes second, receiving the other two first place votes. Mount St. Mary’s is third, followed by Saint Francis of PA, Bryant, Sacred Heart, Merrimack, Long Island, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Saint Francis of Brooklyn.

SOMERSET, N.J.: The Bryant University women’s cross country team has been ranked fifth in the NEC preseason poll. The results were announced Monday. Central Connecticut is the top pick, with eight first place votes. Saint Francis of PA and Sacred Heart each took one first place vote and come second and third, respectively. Mount St. Mary’s is fourth, followed by Bryant, Long Island, Wagner, Merrimack, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Saint Francis of Brooklyn.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University Director of Cross Country/Tack and Field Mitchell Switzer announced the programs cross country schedule for the fall on Wednesday.
