Bio

Julia McGilpin comes from Burlington High School in Vermont where she was a distance coach for cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field for four years. During her time at Burlington, she helped build the distance program by having runners compete at the state championships on both the boys and girls side. She was also apart of history at Burlington as she watched the middle distance and distance runners re-write the school record books.

A Westfield, Mass. native, McGilpin traveled up north to attend the University of Vermont where she ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track. At UVM she was a two-time ECAC and two-time America East Champion. During her senior year at UVM, McGilpin served as a captain of her team and was also nominated as UVM's NCAA woman of the year candidate. Upon graduation, she was a volunteer coach at her alma mater for two seasons.
