Bulldogs earn AVCA Team Academic Award for 2015-16 performance in classroom

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the third-straight season, the Bryant University volleyball team has been named among the 132 NCAA Division I women's teams to receive the 2015-16 AVCA Team Academic Award, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After another year filled with successes on and off the court, volleyball standout and 2016 graduate Debora Magalhaes (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) has been honored as Bryant University’s NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant Athletics was pleased to announce the eight-member Hall of Fame Class of 2015 back in late October - early November. Bryant was pleased to welcome former women's volleyball standout Carola Pierluisi '04 into the Hall of Fame on Nov. 2, 2015.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Six Bryant University athletic teams have been recognized for their academic achievement and are among over 1,000 NCAA Division I sports teams that are being recognized for outstanding performance in the classroom. The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off a record-setting 19-win season that saw the program earn its first Division I postseason berth, the Bryant University women’s volleyball team nabbed three major Northeast Conference accolades, including Setter of the Year in sophomore Vika Nesterov (Kfar Saba, Israel), Rookie of the Year in rightside Sophie Hoekstra (Millersville, Md.) and Coach of the Year in Theresa Garlacy.
