Sloan Makes Professional Debut With Brockton Rox
BROCKTON, MASS – Former Bryant University baseball
standout Stephen Sloan ’05 signed with the Brockton Rox of
the Can-Am League on July 5 after enjoying a successful career with
the Bulldogs.
Sloan, an ABCA First Team All-America in 2004 after leading the
Bulldogs to their first-ever College World Series appearance,
signed as a free agent and made his first professional debut this
past week in Quebec. Sloan pitched the final three innings
against the Capitales, allowing two runs on three hits while
striking out two. The righty did not allow a walk as the Rox
fell 13-0.
Sloan, who pitched at Bryant from 2002-05, holds the school record
for career ERA (2.40)and wins in a season with eleven in
2004. This past season, Sloan went 5-5 with 46 strikeouts to
give him 141 for his career.
