Bryant Baseball Defeats Saint Rose 11-1

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -  The Bryant baseball team took advantage of ten walks en route to a 11-1 victory over Saint Rose Tuesday afternoon at the Bryant Baseball Complex.

The Bulldogs got going right away, scoring three times in the first inning off Golden Knight starter Chris Brown. After Brown walked two and hit another, RF Taylor Ferguson (Charlton, Mass.) blooped a single to score CF Nick Campbell (Raynham, Mass.), and DH Mark Dondero (Medfield, Mass.) followed with a two-run single to right field to give Bryant a 3-0 lead.

That was plenty of support for Dan Lozeau (Pelham, NH) who struck out four and did not walk a batter in seven innings. He improved his record to 3-0, allowing just one run.

Bryant put the game away in the fifth, scoring seven times. The seven run rally featured three walks and a hit batsman to start the inning and culminated with five two-out singles, including a two-run single from SS Pat McKenna (Orange, CT).

Eight of the nine Bulldog starters had at least one base hit, as Bryant pounded out 11 hits, in addition to the ten walks and two hit batsmen.

The Bulldogs (14-11, 7-2 NE-10) will host Stonehill Wednesday (3:30 p.m.) in a make-up game from the March 25th rainout.
