Bryant Baseball Shutout by Saint Rose 3-0
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant baseball team was limited to four hits Friday afternoon, losing 3-0 to Saint Rose at a chilly Bryant Baseball Complex.
Nick Demidio hurled a complete-game shutout striking out four, while scattering four hits to lead the Golden Knights to the conference victory. DeMidio is now 1-3.
Luke Cowan (Atlanta, GA) was the hard-luck loser. Cowan (1-3) gave up two unearned runs in seven innings, while striking out eight and walking none.
The Bulldogs had their chances to score, but could not convert in the first inning with runners on second and third and just one out. In the seventh, Pat McKenna (Orange, CT) grounded into a double play with runners on first and third and one out.
Saint Rose added an insurance run off Chris Foundas (Needham, Mass.) in the eighth.
Jeff Vigurs (South Windsor, CT) has two of Bryant's four hits im the losing cause
The Bulldogs (14-12, 7-3 NE-10) host Pace Saturday in a doubleheader. First pitch is at noon.
