Bulldogs voted third in region

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team received a first-place vote and sits ranked third among all Division I teams in the region according to this week's New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs (33-21) wrapped up their 2012 campaign taking three of four from Northeast Conference rival Wagner College in the final weekend of play to claim their second NEC regular-season title in the last three years. Bryant comes in just one point behind the University of Rhode Island, which received four first-place votes while UConn rose to the top of the regional rankings with 36 points and a trio of first-place nods. Holy Cross and Dartmouth round out New England's top-five teams, respectively.

Bryant currently boasts the most wins in New England, beating out the Crusaders by a single victory, and has now won 30 games in six-straight seasons.
